XtraLick® Salt & Mineral Licks

Salt and minerals are an essential part of the daily diet of all livestock if they are to perform cost effectively.

Our XtraLick® range provides mineral and trace elements supplementation in a simple and cost-effective way. Manufactured from the purest salt available, Xtralicks® are an effective carrier for minerals and trace elements. The self regulatory nature of salt means that livestock will not gorge on the lick, as they may do with molasses based products, and will only take as much as they require. The inclusion of XtraTaste®, however, ensures that target intakes are consistently met, even with minerals that are particularly unpalatable, such as magnesium. XtraTaste® is flavouring which adds taste, as well as aroma, which is only released on consumption of the lick. XtraTaste® inclusion helps overcome low livestock intakes, whilst Rockies retain their economical, low waste and convenience characteristics.

Salt plays a major role in the animals diet and is essential for efficient feed utilisation. Additionally, it stimulates saliva production, promoting digestion and making fodder more palatable.

Deficiencies are most likely in rapidly growing animals and also in lactating stock.

Salt deficiency can lead to :

Loss of appetite and poor intakes
Depressed growth rates in growing and fattening stock
Poor milk production in lactating livestock

Quality

XtraLicks® are manufactured using heavy-duty hydraulic presses with pressures exceeding 10,000 kilos per square inch, which guarantees high density and hardness of the licks compared to other cheaper blocks that are found commercialy, but which are often inferior in quality and will break up or crumble once the animal starts to lick them.

XtraLick® Yellow	XtraLick Yellow® contains a balanced formulation of minerals and trace elements including cobalt and can be fed to all stock.

XtraLick® SC Cattle	XtraLick® SC Cattle was developed in response to the needs of the livestock farmers require extra selenium and copper.
XtraLick® SC Sheep	XtraLick® SC Sheep was developed in response to the needs of the livestock farmer.
XtraLick® Chelated	XtraLick® Chelated contains key trace elements including Bioplex Zinc for extra availability to the animal.
XtraLick® Mag	XtraLick® Mag contains a very high level of magnesium (10%) in addition to a full range of minerals and trace elements. They are essential for milking cows and even during periods of fast grass growth.
XtraLick® Phos 5%	XtraLick® Phos 5% is a balanced mineral lick specially formulated for all cattle and sheep.
XtraLick® Phos 10%	XtraLick® Phos 10% is a balanced mineral lick specially formulated for all cattle and sheep.
XtraLick® Zinc+	XtraLick® Zinc+ contains 3% Zinc content
XtraLick® Nat+	XtraLick® Nat+ is a single 10kg Mineralised Salt Lick, with handy carry-strap. Approved for most Organic Livestock Systems where seaweed provides essential trace elements.
XtraLick® Horse	XtraLick® Horse contains trace elements and herb needed by horses and ponies.
